Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 often referred to professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female signing for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Dreamville Records released her debut album titled Pho in the month of October 2016, and she was able to get recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her songs online in 2012 when she released the Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to share her music over the internet including her independently released single Bound. She appeared in Omen's Elephant Eyes and on Sweat It Out July 21st in 2015. Later that year her music began to circulate around the Dreamville team as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some potential references to Rihanna. She was officially signed to Dreamville Records on 8 December. In the release album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. The singer released Pho, her debut album on October 21 in 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and was an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018 she guest-starred in two of her songs with label-mates EarthGang in the video for Nothing but the Best. and Bas in Icarus. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on the 16th of July, 2018. The debut single, called Whipped Cream of the album was released on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a a music video. In November, she released her singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. Two more singles were released by her on November 13, titled Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made appearances as a guest on Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. In February 2019, her music video to this song was released. It has had more than 3 million YouTube views in just one week. As a support act She toured with 6LACK in December of 2018 for The From East Atlanta With Love Tour.
